Sag / Sway

URMC's sag and sway analysis provides utility managers and professionals with clear visibility into the risks and threats caused by the movement of transmission lines and conductors due to wind, weather and load, as well as line span, tower location and height.

URMC's sag and sway analysis uses LIDAR data and industry-standard PLS-CADD software to pinpoint the location of transmission and distribution assets. URMC's sag and sway plots assets to their exact coordinates along with the exact distances to nearby vegetation. Using URMC data, utility managers can model and simulate sag and sway conditions on any number of variables, including electrical loads, wind, temperature, and topography, as well as natural and manmade features. This is real-world, business intelligence that utility managers and professionals can use to make smart, timely decisions that reduce the chance of outages and improve performance throughout the grid.
