Enhancement, Productivity & ForecastingThrough the use of sophisticated modeling and data analytics, URMC can work with utilities to forecast maximum line sag and sway under virtually any variable, including transmission load, weather, natural and manmade structures, topography, and more. This data is used to determine proximity to potential line contact or arc-over threats. Once those threats have been identified and mitigated, URMC and the transmission utilities can generate dynamic thermal line ratings to potentially unlock excess transmission capacity that otherwise would remain "hidden" due to those previously predicted but unidentifiable threats. Additionally, the transmission utilities can use those same datasets to assess, predict and budget for capital improvements, maintenance, and other internal requirements.
