Using an innovative suite of technologies including airborne LIDAR, URMC flies transmission lines and performs post-flight analysis to generate a digital, three-dimensional inventory of a utility's 'in-service' infrastructure - which is to say, we deliver precise knowledge about what actually exists, not what is supposed to exist.

Towers, insulators, substations, vegetation, ancillary buildings and roads, and much more are identified, three-dimensionally mapped, and catalogued to deliver centimeter-level accuracy for asset and threat identification. For many utility executives, these new digital inventories represent their first truly accurate glimpse into infrastructure put in place decades earlier. 

The LIDAR-generated data can be output to multiple formats and is managed through URMC's proprietary work management system after sag and sway modeling has been performed.  The benefits of URMC's Asset & Threat Identification services include:
