History

URMC was founded in 2005 by Adam Rousselle, after spending more than 15 years working internationally in the sawmill, logging, and related industries. Rousselle's first business, a Latin American hardwood sawmill company, grew to 850 employees.

Rousselle partnered with NASA and academics to develop remote sensing technologies to identify and inventory timber and forests. That work resulted in the founding of Falcon Informatics, a leader in forest information services and solutions for owners, investors, and insurers of forestland around the globe.

By the time Rousselle sold Falcon Informatics in December 2005, the company had analyzed more than 4.5 million acres of forest in North and South America, Indonesia, Finland and Brazil for clients such as Fort Benning, Boise, UPM Kymmene, The Bureau of Land Management, Forest Capital Partners, Forest Systems, Fort AP Hill, and others.

Rousselle's military background includes serving with the 7th Special Forces Group conducting operational counter-intelligence in Latin America. Additionally, he served with the 1st Squadron 7th Cavalry in Desert Storm where he was awarded the Bronze Star for his actions in 1991.
